As a wedding photographer, I have the privilege of capturing love stories at some of the most beautiful venues, and Boschendal in the Cape Winelands is one of my favourites. Each wedding here is unique, with the landscape offering a different kind of magic throughout the year. Recently, I had the honor of photographing Phoebe and Stu’s wedding, a celebration that was as breathtaking as it was heartfelt.
Phoebe and Stu traveled all the way from Singapore for their special day, joined by guests from as far afield as the UK and more locally, Durban. Their wedding was a testament to the lengths people will go to celebrate love and friendship.
One of the highlights of the day was Phoebe’s stunning cape. With long, cascading tassels, it added an ethereal touch to her already exquisite look. Phoebe indulged me as I did a little impromptu photo session with her before the ceremony.
Other than that, Phoebe and Stu wanted the focus to lean more on capturing genuine moments, and their day was filled with them. From the tearful glances during the ceremony to the joyous laughter shared over dinner, every moment was a snapshot of their love and connection. Their alfresco style reception was magical! Under a canopy of twinkling lights, guests enjoyed a feast of local delicacies, celebrating and toasting the happy couple.
The night ended with everyone dancing under the stars to epic electronic beats - it was the perfect conclusion to an exceptional day.
Phoebe and Stu’s wedding was a beautiful reminder of why I love what I do. Each wedding is a new story, a new adventure, and an opportunity to capture moments that will be cherished for a lifetime. Boschendal’s ever-changing landscape provides a stunning canvas, but it’s the love and joy of the couples I photograph that truly bring it to life.
